Walnut - Antique City - Iowa

Walnut Iowa is a quiet little town 51 weeks of the year. On the other one weekend it becomes the Sturgis of Antique Dealers. Dealers from across the country decend on Walnut and soon Main Street is wall to wall antique stands. Goods are displayed and experienced eyes scan each booth for underpriced treasures. The public arrives and attempt to find the perfect additions to their collections. Local churches and other agencies serve homemade pies and ice cream - a culinary reminder of what food tasted like before it was fast. When the weekend is over, Walnut becomes a quiet little town once again.
