Jerusalem - Church of Flagellation
The Church of Flagellation was originally built in 1839 over the remains of a medieval crusader shrine. The Ottomans had used the shrine as a stable. The current church was completed in 1929.
The Church of Flagellation is on the opposite side of the street from the Church of the Condemnation and Imposition of the Cross. Archeologists have evidence that the actual location for the whipping and sentencing of Jesus was on the opposite side of Jerusalem.
