This is my second visit to Fontenelle Forest this year. My January visit was cut short because I didn't realize that the forest was closed so that the nearly tame deer could be hunted. I have mixed feelings about this hunt but I do realize that without it the deer would wipe out most of the habitat for the other animals.
Today was a warm day for February in Nebraska. With the exception of a few birds (Owls and cardinals), I didn't see any wildlife. The drab conditions made photography a challenge.
I will create a gallery each time I photograph in Fontenelle Forest this year. It is nearby and I'm a member so I photograph there often. I have several goals this year. I want to photograph a mink and a pileated woodpecker. I want to do some HDR (high dynamic range) images and a little video.
